About Me<\/h3>\n

Storytelling, I believe, is at the core of what it means to be human.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Having worked as an editor, actor, director, and producer in theatre and film, I have been engaging with storytelling in many different facets and forms forever and love exploring new avenues of expression<\/span>. After graduating with a bachelors in theatre from UCLA, I formed a non-profit theatre company which produced an annual event of short plays and short films accompanied by live originally composed music. Upon moving to New York City, I began a Master's program in liberal studies with a film studies emphasis at the CUNY Graduate Center where I conducted over 100 interviews with a variety of academics, industry professionals and legal scholars to complete my thesis project The 2nd Sex and the 7th Art<\/a>.<\/em> I completed my MA thesis in 2012 and continued to engage and advocate for female filmmakers by organizing events as part of the Directed by Women annual celebration. Soon after completing my MA, I matriculated at CCNY to obtain my MFA focusing in post-production where I received the Bert Saperstein Scholarship for academic excellence. <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2018, SUNY Cortland invited me to speak on a panel about women in film for their annual Blackbird Film Festival. I subsequently served on their film selection jury. <\/span>I currently write film reviews for Educational Media Reviews Online (EMRO), \u201can open access scholarly project supported by the Penn State Libraries\u201d and serve on the board of the Nevada Women's Film Festival in Las Vegas and the Undiscovered Works Theatre Company in New York City.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a member of SAG-AFTRA and before transitioning to post-production I appeared in various independent films, commercials, industrials and a few TV shows. I continue to do some acting online and studied with Austin Pendleton (who is a treasure) both in person when I was in NYC and then online during the pandemic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
